Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, Pitt students are still finding success in careers directly related to their studies.

The Film & Media Studies Program (FMSP) continues to focus on “professional outcome” with its dynamic curriculum.

Congratulations to the following students:

Genna Edwards, a senior in FMSP, had her short film Two named as a semi-finalist in the 2020 Alternative Film Festival. This prestigious honor earned her an IMDB listing.

Kaycee Orwig, a senior and former Broadcast 1 student, secured a valuable internship with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Soccer Club (Spring 2021 semester).

Michael Elesinmogun, a 2020 Pitt graduate and former Human Interests Stories for Broadcasting student, as well as Pitt Studios production assistant, was hired by ESPN in December.

Josh Feldman, a sophomore in FMSP who is in Broadcast 2 this semester, landed a summer position as a play-by-play announcer for The Rockville Express (in the Maryland Collegiate Baseball League). During the interview process, he explained how his experience "interviewing and producing"  would add more to the broadcast than simply his sports knowledge and play-by-play.

Eben Vorster, a Film Production major who graduated in December, was hired by Academy Award-nominated producers KEMB Productions to edit sizzle reels for their upcoming projects.

Gabriella Ogude, a senior Broadcast 1 student, has been named to the Media and Logistics Team with the Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D.C. Upon graduation, Gabee plans to go into broadcast journalism.
