Gabbi Guedes is a media studies scholar addressing the intersection between stereoscopic technologies and different spheres of labor and entertainment in the middle of the 20th century. Her previous work has looked at how Gilles Deleuze’s concepts of the interval and the affection image could be used to understand the co-functioning of technology and narrative across computer animation, video games, and social media. Her research interests include new media, medical imagery, philosophy of technology, and phenomenology. Guedes holds a B.A. in Global Cultural Studies from Duke University.
