Please note that application deadlines vary according to associated departments, with English having a deadline of December 10, 2021; French having a deadline of January 10, 2022; and Hispanic Languages & Literatures, History of Art & Architecture, and Slavic Languages & Literatures having deadlines of January 15, 2022.
The Film and Media Studies Program offers the following graduate degrees and certificates:
- PhD in Film and Media Studies (in conjunction with five Associated Departments):
- Terminal MA in Film and Media Studies
- MA Certificate in Film and Media Studies
- PhD Certificate in Film and Media Studies
Certificates are available to all Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences (A&S) students in graduate MA or PhD degree programs. They address the needs of both the student who will focus on film studies (as in a dissertation) and the student who wishes training in film studies as a subspecialty.
The courses and research paper required for each certificate provide the student with a coherent curriculum in Film and Media Studies appropriate to the student's graduate level.
Film and Media Studies courses are offered by several departments. Choose “Film Studies” in the “School of Arts and Sciences” dropdown menu on the course descriptions page to view currently offered courses. Search courses.
